Many people coming to this site may remember me as a classical guitarist and be somewhat confused by my playing steel string acoustic. In truth I’ve always had a very eclectic experience with the guitar and frequently found myself wanting to express this in composition but found that for some reason the instrument itself did not suggest ideas to me whereas in my other guise as an electric guitarist I was constantly composing. As I was also writing for other instruments this was a source of no little frustration but when, in 2005, I started to write The Girl Who Touched the Sky I was forced to accept that classical guitar and me were doomed to part company. The whole process of creating a body of work has not always been easy but at least I now feel I have something that is uniquely my own and that gives me a whole new motivation to perform.
